Conditions of play:
The competition will be played under the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Ltd and the Bye Laws and local Rules as approved by the Free State Golf Union.
Open to amateurs who are members of a Golf Club affiliated to the South African Golf Association and who have a handicap index of 4.2 (Four decimal 2) or less assessed in terms of the SAGA Course Rating and Handicapping System.
Form of Competition:
The competition will be played over 72 holes Stroke play, 18 holes on Monday 9th November, 18 holes on Tuesday 10th November and 36 holes on Wednesday 11th November 2020 at Maccauvlei Golf Club. At the end of the second round (36 holes) a maximum of 64 (sixty-four) players returning the lowest aggregate scores, will qualify for the final two rounds. In the event of there being a tie or ties for the 64th place all ties shall qualify.
Entries will be limited to 156 players. In the event of entries exceeding the field limit of 156, players will be balloted on the basis of the handicap index effective as of the closing date. The decision of the Maccauvlei Golf Club as to the acceptance or refusal of any entry shall be final. Entries must be submitted on the prescribed form.

R650.00 which includes playing fees and lunch on the final day. Payment confirmation must accompany the entry form.
Entries close at 12h00 on Friday, 30th October, 2020. Late entries and entries not on the prescribed form will not be accepted.
In the event of a tie for first place, the tied players will immediately continue in a sudden death playoff on hole’s 1 and 18 until a winner is determined.
Prizes will be awarded for * the best 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th 18 holes gross * the best 36 holes gross (Vaal Amateur Trophy), * best overall winner over 72 holes and * best runner-up over 72 holes *.
Draw & Starting Times:
The draw will be conducted by the Maccauvlei Golf Club. Any competitor who is absent from the tee when called upon to start will be liable for disqualification or penalty under Rule 5.3a.
The Tournament Organizing Committee will deal with decisions and disputes of any kind.
Courtesy of Course:
The courtesy of the Maccauvlei Golf club will be extended to entrants for practice on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November 2020 . Arrangements must be made with the Maccauvlei Golf Club Tel: (016) 421-3196 beforehand and membership green fees will be applicable.
Only local caddies may be used.
Only recognized golfing attire will be accepted.
