ALEC LEVIN OPEN AMATEUR STROKEPLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS
To be held at Maccauvlei Golf Club
On the 15th 16th and 17th January 2021.
Information and Conditions
Conditions of play:
Entries will be limited to 156 players. The competition will be played under the rules of Golf as approved by the R & A Rules Ltd and the Bye Laws and Local Rules as approved by the FS Golf Union. Open to Amateurs who are members of a Golf Club affiliated to a Union recognized by the SAGA and who have a Handicap Index of 4.0 or less as assessed in terms of the SA Course rating and Handicapping System or other system acceptable to GolfRSA. If more than 156 entries are received, the below exemption criteria will be enforced and followed by a ballot on handicap index with the lower handicaps indexes receiving preferences.
Participation to be subject to agreement and implementation of SA Government Regulations / Directions, GolfRSA Good Golf Practice Guidelines and the host facility’s Risk Mitigation Plan (RMP) and a Tournament Risk Mitigation Procedure (TRMP). All players will be required to comply with the club’s entry/access conditions. The player must then register at the Union registration area where screening will be done. The Union is obligated to keep records of all players participating in amateur events.
1. Current Inter Provincial Players (2019 Premier IPT)
2. Top 60 Players on the GolfRSA Open Rankings. (as at closing date)
3. The top 20 players on FSGU Provincial Order of Merit as at closing date.
4. The remainder of the field will be made up by continuing down the GolfRSA Open Rankings/as the FSGU see fit/by lowest HI.
Any player failing to correctly indicate his Exemption Status on the Entry Form will have no claim against the Union in this regard.
Form of Competition:
The competition will be played over 72 holes Strokeplay, 18 holes on Friday 15th January 2021, 18 holes on Saturday 16th January 2021 and 36 holes on Sunday 17th January 2021. After the second round a maximum of 65 players returning the lowest aggregate scores and ties, will qualify for the final 2 rounds on Sunday. If there is a tie for the 65th place all ties shall qualify. The number of rounds may be reduced by the TOC for any reason. In the event of a tie for the first place a “sudden death” play-off will be played on holes no 1 and 18 repetitively until a winner is determined. The tournament is considered closed when the final results are announced.

On no account will the entry fee be refunded unless a player withdraws prior to the closing date. All withdrawals must be in writing and sent to email@example.com.
Friday 8th January 2021 12h00. Late entries, entries not on official entry form or entries not accompanied by proof of payment will not be considered.
Draw and starting times:
The draw will be conducted by the FSGU. The draw will be available on the website www.rinusgolf.co.za and the website of GolfRSA, alternatively from Union’s office at 057 899 1724 as from Wednesday 13th January 2021. It is the player’s responsibility to obtain his tee-off time. Players may receive an sms with tee-off time.
Decisions and any disputes will be dealt with by the TOC of the FSGU.
Distance Measuring Devices:
Only conforming distance measuring devices may be used to determine direct distance only.

1. Recognized golf attire only is permitted.
2. Short trousers are allowed.
If a caddie is required please indicate that on the Entry Form. Own caddies not allowed. No driven golf carts allowed.
Code of conduct:
The Code of Conduct as per GolfRSA Hard Card will be in effect.
Exemption of Liability:
The host club, FS Golf Union and their management will not be held responsible for any damages or loss incurred, such as:
-Personal loss, harm, damage or injury suffered from any Act of God or otherwise, directly or indirectly, consequential or otherwise, as a result of entry into and/or participation in the tournament. By signing the Entry Form a player acknowledges the above contents and understands it and exempts the Club and the Union from any liability as is indicated above.
-The host club and FSGU do not warrant or guarantee the safety of any person.
