2020 FREE STATE GOLF UNION MID AMATEUR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Maccauvlei Golf Club on SUNDAY 26 APRIL 2020.

INFORMATION & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
Open to any Amateur who is a Male Member of a Golf Club affiliated to a Union recognised by the South African Golf
Association, who on the day of the Tournament shall be 30 years or older. The field is limited to 84 players.
Should the tournament be oversubscribed, entrants will be eliminated on the basis of highest handicaps out first.
FORMAT OF COMPETITION:
The Tournament will be 36 HOLES STROKEPLAY played under the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal &
Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and the Bye-laws and Local Rules of Maccauvlei Golf Club, all as amended by the
Executive of the FSGU. In the event of a tie the winner will be decided on a ‘sudden death’ play off. The field shall be
subject to the approval of the FSGU Executive, which reserves the right to refuse any entry without giving any reason
for such refusal. The Executive may, at its discretion, limit the number of entries.
All entries shall be submitted via ONLINE ENTRY ONLY on the GolfRsa website: www.golfrsa.co.za
R 600 (Six hundred Rand) which includes playing fees and a light meal after 18 holes.. This is payable at the time of entering online on the Website.
DRAW & STARTING TIME:
Time of play, disputes and other arrangements connected with the Tournament and Competition shall be decided by the Executive of the FSGU, which has the power to alter the programme at its discretion. The FSGU reserves the right to change the venue to another course for the event, either in part or entirely, in the case of exceptional circumstances and also reserves the right to alter the advertised times of starting. Players shall start at the time laid down by the Committee (Rule 6-3(a)). However, it is a condition of this Tournament that if a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes of his starting time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole instead of disqualification. In addition, the pace of play will be monitored and slow play can be penalised, the draw will be published on the Union’s website www.fsncgolf.co.za on 23th April 2020. Players will also receive an SMS with their starting time.

Dress Regulations set out by Maccauvlei Golf Club must be strictly adhered to – General Golf Dress Code. Only those golf balls and drivers appearing in the current list of Conforming Golf Balls and Drivers may be used and players must ensure that the grooves of their clubs meet with the specification in Appendix 11 of the Rules of Golf.
No outside caddies allowed – no driven Golf Carts allowed.
EXEMPTION of LIABILITY:
The Host Club, Union and their management will not be held responsible for any damages, loss, including personal loss and or other forms of loss, harm or injury sustained as stipulated below:
The Host Club and Union will not be held liable for any of the following:
1.1 Physical and/or emotional injuries suffered during the tournament/championship, due to any acts of God, suffered as a direct result thereof, including aspects such as being struck by lightning, etc.
1.2 Physical injuries of any kind suffered by any person, including a player or spectator sustained by own negligence, or otherwise.
1.3 Emotional injuries sustained due to any loss, including death, suffered as a result of any of the above injuries sustained personally or by a spectator.
